Our Goat Herd
We breed for resilience and personality
nurturing loving goats with good health and sharing the best milk

our herd - aka our trip of goats

  • Azmiya

Azmiya is our sweet herd queen, mother to the also beautiful twins Mirabai and Maeve.
She is an Anglo-Nubian - a full size breed renowned for their milk flavour and volume, as well as ease on the human gut.

Azmiya’s ears have a curl to die for, if she wasn’t our herd queen she would love to be on the cat walk…she is too sweet natured for that so she’s staying with us!

  • Teddy

Teddy is our man, or should we say ‘ Herd Sire’.

Not only well dressed, he’s well hung and a very enthusiastic Daddy.
He’s 92.5% Nigerian dwarf, another very well loved breed known for their resilience, and exceptional milk ( highest butter fat and great for cheese making) in a small statured goat.
With Teddy on team we will be breeding mini-Nubians, so a little bigger with a higher milk yield, and the improved resilience and exceptional milk quality of the Nigerian Dwarf.

He ran with the girls, hence his very stylish ‘buck apron’. Teddy has sired 13 kids for us over the past 12 months, including 3 sets of triplets , and two sets of twins. His latest born are a beautiful set of triplets 2 does and a buckling ( available end Spet) and twin mini-nubians ( sold pending).

Teddy has now moved on to a new ‘trip’ or herd of goats, so we can expand our gene pool and someone else can benefit from his great nature and potential progeny.

Keep an eye out for young AstroBoy who joined the herd August 23, prepping to ‘get to work’ around the end of the year :)

  • The Kids

If you want milk, there’s going to be kids!

Our kids are Dam raised (with their mums, we milk share) and loads of human interaction for connection and resilience.

They keep their horns ( no, we don’t disbud), and we use herbs, minerals and micronutrients to help them grow healthy and strong.

Our percentages will vary depending on the Dam, our latest kids are Nigerian Dwarf (89%), and our next ones will be Mini-Nubians ( approx 50-50 Anglo Nubian/ NIgerian Dwarf)..
